Nope, we didn't see any dolphins; however, we saw a lot of other amazing things and had a great three day weekend with great friends. We headed south to the Chambal Safari Lodge to take a couple safari's on and around the Chambal River Sanctuary. We saw some amazing wildlife, the Fort Ator, and visited a nearby village.
Our first activity was the camel safari to Fort Ator built between 1664 and 1668 (If you just want to see the wildlife pics -Crocs, etc-, scroll to the end).
Yep, those are axes |
We wish we knew more about birds because there were so many of them. We were really excited to see Bar-Headed Geese that migrate each year over the Himalayas from Siberia. You can see a video of their migration here.
Another fun bird to watch was the Pied Kingfisher.
And some more birds...
Little Green Heron |
And then, the big boys.... the Marsh Crocs and endangered Gharian Crocs.
An unexpected side trip was to a nearby village led by Sanjay, a very enthusiastic local that showed us around and invited us for tea in his house despite the rain.
The Manker Whisperer |
And a few random pics...

Awesome pics! Looks like you had a great time. Don't worry, river dolphins are way less cool than those crocs!
