After we left Agra and the Taj Mahal we headed to
Jaipur for a great couple days of sightseeing. The "Pink City" is a fascinating place to walk around and the surrounding areas are equally enchanting.

One of our stops during the first day in Jaipur was
Hawa Mahal, a palace within the city constructed in 1799.

Another stop was Isar Lat, a tower built in 1759 to memorialize a battle victory. You can see a 360 degree panoramic view

We stayed at
Hotel Maduban, which suited us fine. The breakfasts were good, the rooms were clean and the puppet show was entertaining (especially the young percussion player).

Our second day in Jaipur was spent exploring a few of the forts and the "Monkey Temple". Our first stop, and probably most spectacular, was
Amber Fort. This Fort, outside of Jaipur, was built of Red Sandstone in 1592. It has a gigantic wall that meanders along the hills around the main structure.

Our next stop was
Nahargarh Fort, which was not as impressive as Amber Fort. The best part was it overlooked Jaipur, but for some reason we didn't take any pictures. We did have lunch (which was not very good) but the beer was cold and the view was beautiful.
On our way back to Jaipur, we stopped to take a few photos of
Jai Mahal, a place in the middle of a lake whose name literal translation is "Water Palace."
Our last stop was
Galta & Surya Madir (Monkey Temple). Although this temple was featured on the National Geographic's
Rebel Monkey Series, it is way out of the way and difficult to find. Because of this, we did not get there until dusk. Because of the lighting, most of the pictures did not turn out very good.
