Gramps Invades India and Nepal (Week 1) - March 2013

Gramps flew in solo for a great two weeks of exploring Delhi, Agra (Taj Mahal) and Nepal.  Because we did so much in those two weeks, we've split this trip into two posts - India and Nepal.  Here are some pics from Gramps' first week in India.

Our first outing was a day trip around Delhi, including Red Fort (Lal Qila), Old Fort (Purana Qila) and Humayan's Tomb.

Since Holi (Hindu Festival of Colors) took place over Spring Break, the school held it's own celebration a week earlier.  We would go on to celebrate the actual Holi in Pokhara, Nepal which will be included in our next post.

Drew took a day off work and he, Hana and Gramps headed down to Agra to see the Taj Mahal.  Unfortunately, Quinn and Liv could not tag along because of work and school.

It's hard to tell from this picture, but these bats were gigantic

A trip to Delhi would not be complete with out spending a few hours in frenetic Old Delhi. Drew took a second day off of work and headed to this fascinating part of town with Gramps and Hana exploring it, of course, on a bike rickshaw.
